Supporting cancer patients in their hour of need.
IPBC has partnered with CancerNavigator to offer a unique support service to all members, retirees, and dependents on an IPBC BCBS IL or UHC health plan beginning July 1, 2026.
We help your employees face cancer by pairing them with Oncology Certified Nurse Navigators. Whether they are just beginning their journey, are in active treatment, finished with treatment, or in survivorship, CancerNavigator is here to help.
This hub provides direct access to communications materials to share with your teams explaining how to use the service. IPBC member employees can also visit www.cancernavigator.com/ipbc for more details.

For questions about how the service works or other administrative topics, email us at ipbc.support@cancernavigator.com. Cancer patients who want to talk with with a Nurse Navigator about the program can call us directly at (630) 214-1252 or visit our website at www.cancernavigator.com/ipbc.
-
Every patient who opts in to the CancerNavigator service, receives an Educational Brief that contains information about their clinical situation that is tailored to their circumstances and questions, including a list of the best-equipped sites of care nearby and in-network for their cancer. Our team of nurses and researchers prepares each brief based on the information shared by the patient. After the brief is delivered, nurses stay in touch on the cadence the patient prefers for as long as needed.
Some patients receive more than one brief, depending on where they are in their journey and what their needs are.
-
IPBC has arranged for lifetime access to CancerNavigator at no cost to employees. They can reach out to our team at any time for assistance.
-
In addition to creating personalized recommendations, assisting with appointment scheduling including second opinions, and answering general questions about cancer, Nurse Navigators can help find local support groups, financial resources, arrange for transportation, and many other things that become hard for cancer patients.
During our intro call, the Nurse Navigator will learn about each clinical situation to understand how we can best help.
